Se estudiaron ejemplares procedentes del área ubicada entre los 73º 25’-75º 25’ de longitud Oeste y los 4º 30’ 10’ de latitud Sur, durante los años 1982-87. Se determina madurez sexual, época de desove, proporción sexual, estrategias reproductivas, engrasanciento viscerales, grado de llanura, hábito e ítems alimenticios de las especies de consumo más importantes. ComoProchilodus nigricans, Arapaima gigas, Colossoma macropomum, Osteoglossum bicirrhosum, Serrasalmus sp. etc.
